Yet change is anything but easy. It takes drive, motivation, and strategy to change our habits, especially if we’ve been doing things in a certain way for long periods of time. But mostly, it takes support, and that’s where health coaches make a difference.
Health coaching is based on evidence-based clinical interventions to facilitate behavioral change. A transtheoretical model of behavioral psychology, patient education, goal setting, outcome metrics, and prevention through a healthy lifestyle: mindfulness, nutraceuticals, nutrition, and exercise routines.
The CDC defines wellness as "the degree to which one feels positive and enthusiastic about life". Wellness coaching is a process that facilitates healthy, sustainable change by challenging a client to develop their inner wisdom to identify their values and transform their goals into action.
