Philosophy

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

A Return to Love, from "A Course in Miracles" by Marianne Williamson

When we focus solely on dispelling illness in order to restore health, a priceless opportunity for the spirit is lost.

Trust your wound to a teacher's surgery.
Flies collect on a wound. They cover it,
Those flies of your self-protecting feelings,
Your love for what you think is yours.
Let a teacher wave away the flies
And put a plaster on the wound.

Don't turn your head. Keep looking
At the bandaged place. That's where
The light enters you.
And don't believe for a moment
That you're healing yourself.

"Childhood Friends" by Rumi

We are all substantially flawed, wounded, angry, hurt, here on earth.

But this human condition, so painful to us, and in some ways shameful- because we feel we are week when the reality of ourselves is exposed- it is made much more bearable when is shared, face to face, in words that have expresive human eyes behind them.

"Anything we love can be saved" by Alice Walker.
